The 24-year-old brother of world number 3 Andy Murray won his coveted Grand Slam title with Jelena Jankovic in 2007 and made it to the 2008 US Open final with Liezel Huber. He is teaming up with fellow Briton Jonathan Marray in the first round of the men’s doubles at Les Ormes.

Seeded second they face Joshua Goodall (GBR) and Samuel Groth (AUT) in the last match on court two, which is expected to start at around 6 pm.

Tournament organiser Hugh Raymond said: ‘Jamie came over when he was still climbing the ranks so to return now, with such a good record, is fantastic for the Island. It’s brilliant to have that standard of player.’
