The 24-year-old, who has been a coach with AIB Tigers Swimming Club for two and a half years, leaves the Island on Sunday to take up the post.

Jégou, who joined Tigers as a 12-year-old, is the second Jersey man to work at the school as fellow swimming coach Paul du Feu’s son, Liam, moved into a coaching role there in 2006. He has recently been promoted to director of swimming.

Explaining how the job opportunity came about Jégou said: ‘Through Liam I heard that they were looking for someone as junior head of aquatics so I applied and found out about four weeks ago that I had got the position.’
