The home golfer Ian Woosnam can’t sell

La Hougue in St Peter was put on the market in May 2005 for £5 million and is now selling for between £3 and 3.5 million.

The property is currently advertised with Oakland Estates. It is understood that the professional golfer wants to live permanently in Barbados, where he has a holiday home.

Oakland Estates owner Jim Rotheram, who declined to discuss Mr Woosnam’s house, said that the home’s upper price bracket was ‘a reasonably tough market’.

He said: ‘The £750,000 to £1.4 million market has diminished. Most of the J-cats, who are taking the properties in that range, have been reduced in getting that permission, so properties that were flying out the market are not now.’
