Racing at Thruxton on Saturday, in final British Motorcycle Racing Club meeting of the season, Currie had a mathematical chance of beating second-placed rival Gerrard Fallon but he could not beat him in either of the two races.
Both bikers were riding at Thruxton for the first time and Currie qualified ahead of Fallon and therefore he was hopeful of a couple of good results.
Currie led Fallon for the first part of each race but he was passed in the first after he made an error and, in the second, in slowing down to avoid a rider who crashed in front of him Fallon again sped past. Fallon’s margin of victory was 1.6 seconds in the first race and just 0.4 in the second.
