Rafal Stasiak imported a huge stash of heroin and more than 5,000 amphetamine tablets after driving across Europe from his home in Poland to look for a job in the construction industry.
He was arrested just hours after arriving at the Elizabeth Terminal when Customs officers found the drugs hidden in his rented car.
During sentencing by the Royal Court, the judge, Commissioner Julian Clyde-Smith, said that anyone caught trying to import drugs into Jersey should expect a long prison sentence.
He added: ‘As a court, we see all too often the misery inflicted on those who use and become addicted to drugs, together with their families.’
