The competition is now in its 50th year and the Island, which hosted the first European Championship in 1969, has welcomed around 200 surfers to its shores for the event.

Teams from France, Spain, Portugal, Wales, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium and the Channel Islands are taking to the waves at St Ouen’s Bay all week in the hunt for Open, Senior, Masters, Ladies, Longboard and bodyboard titles.

The competition starts at 8 am every day at the Watersplash with the finals due to take place on Saturday.
