Blood takes on British No 1

The 26-year-old former Le Rocquier student takes on Sheffield’s Thomas McCormack in a professional Muay Thai bout for the ISKA welterweight title at Fort Regent on Saturday.

The event is one of the biggest martial arts events ever to come to Jersey and Blood has vowed to go all out to try and claim the coveted belt and title.

And he has one distinct advantage because many of McCormack’s previous clashes have been posted on the internet, whereas Jersey Thai Boxing Club fighter Blood is relatively unknown. This, Blood hopes, will work in his favour.

Blood and McCormack weigh in on Friday afternoon before appearing as the main bout tomorrow night, while eight other local fighters will feature in the undercard bouts.
