TOWN centre cycle racing will take over the streets of St Helier next month.
Hundreds of professional and novice cyclists from Jersey and abroad will compete in the Rubis Jersey Town Criterium, which will feature the quirky recumbent bikes where cyclists look as though they are lying back.
The event on Sunday 24 May has been organised by local cycle club Velo Sport to raise the profile of cycling and to get young people interested in the sport.
Tony Moffa, of the Velo Sport organising committee, said that this kind of event, which will see most town roads closed, was rare in Britain today.
