THE Jersey Thai-Boxing Club will be hosting its sixth annual ‘Fight Night’ this Saturday at the Metropole Hotel.

There will be a total of ten bouts on the night which will see local fighters come up against Thai-boxers from some of the UK’s top clubs.

Chief Instructor Rob Mitchell, who has organized the event, founded the Jersey Thai-Boxing Club in 1991.

He said: ‘I started the event because I wanted to give local full-contact fighters the chance I never had to compete on home soil.’

Mitchell has been Thai-boxing for 20 years but used to have to go overseas to compete as there were no full contact clubs in the Channel Islands.
