THE Island celebrated 40 years of Overseas Aid on Friday.

In one of his first official engagements since announcing his retirement in the States last week, the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, thanked all those – past and present – who had been involved with the organisation over the last four decades.

In the Old Library at the Royal Court building, people who have been involved in all aspects of Overseas Aid work – whether as committee presidents, commissioners, team leaders or aid workers themselves – gathered to celebrate the occasion.
