EASYJET is to stop flights from Jersey to Luton in January. There will be no more services after 4 January due to losses and low demand for the route.
The airline said that in the current environment ‘flexibility is vital’ and it will continue to review schedules. However, it is possible that flights may return at some point as the airline said it will ‘seize any opportunities that may arise as capacity exits the market’.
The Jersey to Liverpool route is safe – for now – as demand remains strong. But easyjet has reduced the winter frequency to Liverpool from a daily service to three flights a week.
The news about Luton will come as another blow to Islanders looking to travel to England this winter. Earlier this week Thomsonfly announced that it was pulling out of Coventry Airport and stopping flights to Jersey from 3 November.
