ISLANDERS today get the most accurate picture yet of how the new £106 million incinerator is likely to change the St Helier skyline.

Detailed plans have been released by Transport and Technical Services which show how the designers hope to mask the huge, square structure.

Islanders will now have the chance to comment on the proposals at two public meetings next month.

The first will take place on Thursday 9 October at 7 pm at St Paul’s Centre and the second at the Ommaroo Hotel on Sunday 12 October from 2 pm to 6 pm.

The work of Hopkins Architects and Townshend Landscape Architects has been unveiled by Transport to show how they intend to deal with issues that were ‘reserved’ when Environment Minister Freddie Cohen granted outline planning permission last October.
