JERSEY’S former international football star Graeme Le Saux is to have his family history researched as part of a campaign to encourage Islanders to use the Jersey Archive more.
The archive will also be researching the family history of Health Minister Ben Shenton, Appleby partner John Bisson, Plat Douet School head teacher Suzanne Conoops, Channel 103 FM presenter Peter Mac and Jersey Tourism’s business development manager, Donna Le Marrec, through a series of talks and articles.
The What’s Your Story? campaign resembles the BBC series Who Do You Think You Are? which follows famous people as they trace their genealogy.
The Jersey Archive actually featured on the BBC show when presenter and journalist Ian Hislop travelled to the Island to research his background. Mr Hislop’s mother and grandfather were living in Jersey during the Occupation and staff at the archive showed him a picture of his mother which he had never seen before.
