Jeremie Cup at the Corbet Field in Guernsey on Saturday.

Grouville coach Ken Addison said after the game: ‘Maybe two or three-nil would have been more reasonable. But it’s still hugely disappointing. In the last 20 minutes of the second half we were poor, but for the first 25 minutes of the half, before they scored again, I thought we were the better side.’

That Grouville lost so heavily was largely down to Addison’s gamble, with 20 minutes left, to throw three men up front in a bid to rescue the game. All that did, however, against a solid North defence, was to give the home side more attacking options, from which they soon profited.
