Roger Holland (42) was brought before the Royal Court yesterday after he admitted indecently assaulting three girls from 1988 to 2000.

Holland, who is a former Vingtenier and St John’s ambulance worker, was due to be sentenced before the Inferior Number.

Addressing the court the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, noted that Holland’s social inquiry report stated that a ‘disclosure of other offences were made a few years ago’. This led to the Bailiff asking whether Holland had been given the appropriate advice by his advocate about this disclosure.

Defending Advocate James Gleeson announced that he had spoken to Holland about these matters and as a result asked the court to adjourn so that these allegations could be dealt with and investigated.

Advocate Gleeson said that Holland wanted to ‘wipe the slate clean’ and has disclosed other offences.

Diverse

The three charges he admits are an indecent assault on an eleven-year-old girl on diverse occasions between 1988 and 1989 . An indecent assault on a 15-year-old girl on three occasions between 1989 and 1992 in Jersey. And he has also admitted indecently assaulting a girl aged 11 between 1998 and 2000.

The Royal Court granted a four-week adjournment and Holland has been remanded back into custody.
