The GB side were 3-0 up at half time and it was Herbert’s goal that took the score to 5-1 in the 63rd minute.
This was the fourth friendly to be played as part of Great Britain’s tour of Australia.
They are currently 2-0 down in the test series, against the National Hockeyroos side, after suffering a 5-0 and 2-1 defeat.
Herbert, who plays for Leicester Hockey Club, is now one of only seven, from an initial squad of 22, to have featured in all six matches on the GB tour of Australia.
The three remaining test matches are in Brisbane with games tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday.
