Captain, Bill Aston, who is out injured with ankle ligament damage, said: ‘We’ve come further than ever before and if we get through this round we’ll be in the quarter-final which would be a fantastic achievement for a small place like Jersey.

‘We’ve played this team before, at the end of last season, and we beat them but our teams have changed since then so it is a bit like going into the unknown.

‘We’ll be looking to take the game to them, which we always do, put them under pressure and hopefully reap the rewards.’

Aston will still travel with the team along with coach Shelagh Herbert.

JHA chairman Malcolm Banahan said: ‘It’s brilliant to have got so far and the next round is against a team that we could well beat.

It’s a high standard of hockey and so a great experience for our guys.’

Jersey have recorded some impressive wins in this competition so far following their bye in the first round.

They beat Marsden Russets 3-1 in the second round and Crostyx, 5-2, in the third.

The Channel Islands are well represented at this level as Guernsey remain in the tournament and will play Banbury on Sunday.

Squad: Jason Weber, Simon Watling, Bobby Minty, Dan Lundy, Bradley Wherry, Mark Dicker, Stuart Ramskill, Arnou Helmholt-Kniesel, Tom Millar, Peter Millar, Nathan Maguire, Luke Maguire, Mike James, Robin Le Quesne.
