We are using the internet even more with three-quarters of homes having a connection and there is also an increasing tendency to have satellite television – especially if you live in Trinity where 80 per cent of households have Sky TV.

Nine out of ten Islanders believe that the smoking ban in pubs and restaurants is a good thing and even two thirds of regular smokers support the ban.

Over half of us have a fire escape plan to get out of our homes and more than seven out of ten homes have smoke detectors installed.
