The current champion, who had a bye in the first round, said she is feeling confident but is refusing to look beyond this afternoon’s quarter-final against Sarah Renton of Northumberland.
The other Jersey girl in the singles, Kim Ashton, suffered a first round KO at the hands of Fontaine Chapman, 21-14, 21-7.
Chapman progressed to today’s quarter-finals and, if successful, could meet in Cann in this evening’s semi-finals.
