The Goodwill is being taken out of service until repairs have been carried out. The ship has been crossing the Channel on only one engine since it was damaged during a collision with a wall on 10 December while trying to berth in St Helier Harbour.
The replacement vessel, MV Triumph, is slightly smaller than the Goodwill but will be able to follow the daily schedule to Jersey, Guernsey and Portsmouth until the Goodwill has been repaired.
