The company’s managing director, David Le Quesne, blamed the increasing costs of doing business in Jersey and accused Chief Minister Frank Walker and Treasury Minister Terry Le Sueur of having no idea of what it is like to live in the real world.
‘They go on about how well the economy is doing but don’t seem to have a clue about what it is like at the coalface for those businesses not in the finance industry,’ said Mr Le Quesne.
He said that the ban on smoking had had a massive impact on trade.
Mr Le Quesne confirmed that Randalls Vautier had written to all its staff earlier this week to advise them ‘regrettably’ there would be no festive bonus.
