Supermarket shelves could be short of fresh food all week after the freight ship Commodore Goodwill crashed into a wall yesterday.

One of the Goodwill’s bow thrusters failed when it was trying to berth at about 7 am in the Harbour yesterday. She later limped into Guernsey at about 3.30 pm, when all the freight was unloaded.

And this morning the vessel had struggled on one engine to Portsmouth, where a full assessment of the damage was carried out.
