The investigation has also spread to Guernsey, it emerged today.
Deputy Chief Officer Lenny Harper, who is leading the investigation, told the JEP today that men and women had contacted them and claimed they had been victims years ago of physical or sexual abuse.
‘There was immense relief on their part that something was now going to be done about offences against them and some of them were very emotional,’ he said.
