Over the next few weeks, the highly controversial issues of higher taxes, increased immigration, the raising of the retirement age and more house-building will take centre stage.
The Imagine Jersey 2035 consultation exercise asks Islanders to give their views on how the economic impact of an ageing population should be managed in Jersey.
It focuses on the changes which will occur over the next 25 years caused by more people living longer past retirement age and fewer babies being born.
If nothing is done, the economy would enter a downward spiral because the number of people working and paying taxes would fall while the cost of supporting the elderly soared.
