Accountants dip into conference

The Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants are holding their two-day conference on 4 and 5 October in the Great Hall at the Hotel de France, but booking forms need to be in by 21 September.

The conference is open to members, students and non-members and as with previous conferences the format is modular, enabling delegates to attend sessions of most relevance to them, or the full two-day programme.

Topics covered on 4 October include next year’s IMF assessment, private equity, Jersey tax, international tax developments, corporate governance, and the revised money laundering order.

Friday’s session will focus on UK GAAP, IFRS, data protection, Jersey Finance and employment law updates.

Last year 350 delegates attended over the two days and it is hoped that a similar number will attend this year.

The society’s annual dinner will close the conference on Friday and guest entertainers will include Dara O’Briain, the ‘BarWizards’ and award-winning magicians from the UK, ‘Spellbound’.
