The yacht’s owners were eating in a St Helier restaurant oblivious of the fact that there was a full sea search and rescue operation under way to try to find them. However, their enjoyment ended soon afterwards when they were arrested in connection with substances, suspected to be controlled drugs, found on board the vessel when a search was made after it was towed to St Helier. The States police say a 49-year-old man and 46-year-old woman were arrested and released pending further analysis of the substances. Fisherman James Stuart (26) said he had sent a letter today to the Receiver of Wreck, who decides on salvage claims. Mr Stuart believes that the Castaway is a new boat and could be worth as much as £180,000.
