Family and friends cheered and applauded as Mr Collenette walked through the doors of the arrivals hall at almost exactly 2 pm. He was hugged by his mother, father and brother Greg as his friends popped open champagne corks to celebrate his arrival. The retired banker was returning from his nightmare of being held in jail in Gibraltar for nearly two months after £8 million worth of cocaine was found in concealed compartments of a yacht which he and three others had sailed across the Atlantic from St Lucia to Gibraltar. Earlier this week drug-smuggling charges that could have carried a life sentence against Mr Collenette and fellow crew members Martin Gennochio and Kate Burman were dropped by prosecutors.
