Glendening cuts Junior Island swim record

Having broken that record with a 1 min 01.4 sec in finishing fifth in her heat, the AIB Tiger improved that to 1.01.26 in the final.

Kerrie Smith, in her only swim at the Nationals, finished 28th in the 13 years’ 200m backstroke.

A little off the time she was aiming for, Smith still broke her long course PB by over two seconds, swimming 2.35.01 min.

The senior swimmers start their campaign today, with Island Games star ian Black in action in the 100m breast-stroke and Daniel Fernandes and JJ Gallichan going in the 400m events.
