Daniel Richardson is in 17th having shot a total of 105.12 over 300, 500 and 600 yards yesterday; Bruce Horwood is 40th on 104.14 while others in the top 300 to progress were David Le Quesne (104.12), Richard Benest (104.10), Cliff Mallett (103.13), Colin Mallett (103.12), Alan Le Sueur (102.14), Graeme Harris (102.14), Andrew Le Cheminant (102.9) and Victoria College’s Jonny Du Feu (102.8).
In what was the windiest day of the meet so far, Horwood had an excellent shoot very late in the day, with extremely poor visibility, to score 73.5 in the Donaldson Memorial Final.
After shooting the first 12 shots in the centre, Horwood said that he thought he had it in the bag but after dropping two points in the last three shots he missed out on the win.
He should, however, have done enough to comfortably finish in the top five, although results are as yet unconfirmed.
The final long-range shoot of the Grand Aggregate also took place yesterday, the Conan Doyle, and Alan Le Sueur was Jersey’s top scorer on 49.6.
In the Grand Aggregate, Richard Benest has dropped to 39th and Peter Stock to 49th although both will be hoping for performances today to propel them into the next round, top 50.
Today, Jersey’s shooters will feature in the HRH Prince of Wales prize before joining forces for the Overseas team event.
