Said the club’s reappointed director of rugby Dai Burton: ‘V is a powerful lad and it is a position we need to fill, with Roger Quirk retiring.

The decision to appoint an extra semi-professional player coach was passed unanimously.’ Promotion Tongan back rower Latu Maka’afi remains as a club pro and he and V will soon be joined by New Zealanders Samuel Tato Tuia and Kieaho Bloomfield, who will strengthen the half-back and three-quarter sections of a squad aiming to win promotion to London One this season.
