Senator Terry Le Main says he already has a list of 500 names of elderly people who are desperate for retirement homes and it is time for the States to get on and build them. He says that a housing survey – called for by Deputy Alan Breckon in Saturday’s JEP – would tell the department what they already knew. More delays, he said, would simply make the problems for hundreds of pensioners worse. ‘Quite honestly, any more delays would be absolute madness,’ he said.
