New centre ‘leads the way for Island’s youth’

About 30 young people gathered at the Route de la Trinité venue to welcome the Chief Minister, Senator Frank Walker, and Housing Minister, Senator Terry Le Main, to the centre and took great pride in showing them around. The building had been empty for ten years but has now been running for 15 months with tenants working in partnership with Housing and the Youth Service. Senator Walker officially declared the centre open last night and unveiled a plaque. He said it was a fantastic example of community spirit. ‘It is an absolute triumph that a building which lay empty for ten years is now home to this great youth centre,’ he said. ‘I hope you can enjoy it for many years to come.’
