HDFerries to offer Cherbourg route?

If berthing tests in Alderney next week are successful, HDFerries will run a three times weekly service to the northern isle and the Normandy port using their vessel HD1. HDFerries managing director Chris Howe-Davies said that as a result of its schedules, the vessel is currently berthed in Guernsey for six hours every day. He said it would be possible to run it on to Alderney and Cherbourg and back in order to increase use and provide new links. And he said that Jersey resident foot passengers would probably be able to travel to Alderney for £30 return, with prices higher for Cherbourg. At present there no direct air links between Jersey and Alderney and a return flight via Guernsey is close to £100.
