The the first round of the SE Guy Memorial Trophy Jersey Zoo and Walkovers both recorded victories, over Mavericks and Academicals, respectively.

Ian Crocker’s unbeaten half century, along with Ryan Driver’s 38 was the foundation for Pentagon’s 20-run win over Hautlians.

Hautlians first three batsman failed to trouble the scorers, but Neil Crowell’s unbeaten 50 took their reply to 118.

Big scores from Tony Carlyon and Matt Hague helped take SCF to 134, with Beeches’ reply 46 runs short.

Mark Tribe hit an unbeaten 50 in St Ouen’s eight-run win over Abacus, for whom Alan Lesbirel also managed a half century.

Dogged by bad weather so far this season, the sun finally shone on Jersey Zoo, who booked their place in the S.E.

Guy Memorial Trophy quarter finals.

In the cup Jersey Zoo, despite only fielding nine players, beat Mavericks by five wickets, with an over to spare.

Ricketts top-scored for Mavericks with 34 of their total of 93 for 4.

Zoo began their innings positively and had put 25 on the board before losing their first wicket.

Adam Sutton hit 30 while two more wickets fell at the top of the order.

Richard Miles came in at No 5 and hit the winning runs in an unbeaten 21.
