On Saturday night The Author, No Star Hotel, The Shatterproof Rulers and The OKs secured their place in the final after playing two songs each on stage at the Havana Club. They joined marvel, Benny the Moth, Omerta and Tramp Sinatra, who won their final places on Thursday night. They will now compete for a place on stage at Havana on 5 May for a spot at the Island’s largest ever music festival. Jersey Live pioneer Warren Le Sueur said that the standard of local bands competing for a Jersey Live slot had been the best he had seen since the festival began in 2004. ‘It was really difficult to judge,’ he said. ‘We have noticed how much the standard has raised since last year. Now we have the task of having to pick four of the eight to play at the festival. It’s going to be difficult.’
