The Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, has disallowed his proposed amendments to Deputy Gerard Baudains’ proposition, which is due to be debated today, saying they would bring the House into disrepute. Deputy Baudains’ proposition is effectively a censure motion. It calls on the House to formally express its displeasure at Senator Syvret’s conduct over the first open letter to Richard Brocken, and for him to step down from the Privileges and Procedures Committee, which is responsible for States standards. The amendments put forward by the Senator has savagely mocked the Deputy and anyone who would seek to discipline him over his recent behaviour.
