Julitta on her way to a new life in France

And there waiting for her is a younger male. Julitta, a 32-year-old Sumatran orang-utan and her daughter Putri, who is almost two, are being sent to a zoo in north-east France for social reasons. In Jersey, she is not getting on very well with other members of her group. Tom Davies, Durrell’s senior keeper of apes, said that Julitta was a brilliant mother and had already successfully reared a son, Wirawan.
