Two fantastic eight-wicket wins – a third match was abandoned yesterday because of rain – mean that Jersey have done all they could on the field of play as part of their application to move from affiliate to associate status of the International Cricket Council. Jersey will now receive a visit from members of the ICC to inspect the Island’s facilities together with looking at the structure and organisation of Jersey cricket. The ICC visit will be made in the middle of April in preparation for Jersey’s application to be completed ahead of the extended deadline of 30 April. Should Jersey’s application be successful, they will be guaranteed a 128th share from the profits of the current World Cup being played in the West Indies. This may amount to around £60,000.
