Big Vern’s sees the light with Corbière takeover

The company behind the successful St Ouen’s Bay café has recently bought its Discovery Bay home – and has now purchased Corbière Phare, where it will refurbish the restaurant and bar and take on the management of the site’s 12 self-catering holiday apartments.

It’s a big step for Big Vern’s founder, Paul McBride, who took over the St Peter café when it was still the in-house burger bar for Sands nightclub.

Little did he know then that his business would eventually buy the whole property.

Like Corbière Phare, Big Vern’s will also run Discovery Bay’s 12 apartments.

The change of ownership will also herald name changes: Discovery Bay will become the Beach House and Corbière Phare will be crowned the Lighthouse.
