The former England rugby international won the title on Saturday night with an almost flawless performance of Bolero, the famous routine which won Torvill and Dean Olympic gold. After the first of the final’s two dances, Kyran, who had dominated the competition, found himself third in the judges’ opinion, but the public vote got him through to the head-to-head against Claire Buckfield. Kyran, whose family live in Jersey and who has always thought of the Island as his home, believes that the local support may have won it for him. ‘It was very close, and I think I probably needed those extra votes from Jersey, so I’d like to say a big thank-you to everyone,’ said Kyran.
