And many passengers had to pay to travel with rival carrier Condor Ferries, which was able to operate the wavepiercer Condor Express last night. Most managed to get back last night on the Condor vessel, but some decided not to travel and stayed in France instead. HDFerries have apologised to customers and either given rebates or rebooked them on other sailings, but some found themselves paying over 350 euros for a car and four passengers for a one-way sailing with Condor.
