Scrutiny in leadership crisis

A proposal to remove him from his position as chairman of the Scrutiny panel chairmen’s committee is being circulated, and is expected to be lodged on Monday. It is understood that the proposal has the four signatures necessary for a no confidence vote and, if lodged today, it will be debated no earlier than the sitting after next. The proposal would be the first no confidence motion of the ministerial era and follows a private meeting this week where some of the Deputy’s colleagues told him he had to resign or the matter would be taken to the House.
