And Nicola Jubb who is responsible for organising the fixtures said: ‘It’s been a real nightmare this year and I’m still having to re-arrange some of the fixtures.

‘It has been a really bad year with the weather and some teams will now have to play twice a week now to fit all the matches in before the end of March – it’s been pretty stressful! ‘There’s not enough time to use the courts at the moment so I think the season will run into April and I think the solution would have to be having indoor courts or covers at Les Quennevais.’ Maureen Cox, President of the JNA also reiterated the fact that it has been a terrible year for netball with the weather causing disruption to a huge number of matches.

In Division I of the league St Ouen A have been the biggest casualties of the weather having only played eight games so far this season compared to the 12 that others have fulfilled.

Team captain Karen Kurys said: ‘St Ouen’s A team has been badly effected and we have four rearranged matches in March so we are having to play two matches a week for the whole month.

Together with umpiring rearranged matches means that for myself alone, being an umpire too, I am out three times a week.

‘The courts at FB are not in a good condition and Les Quennevais is struggling to cope with all the games, so to have our own indoor court is the only way to go really, especially as there is so much netball being played now with the youth league and matches four times a week.

‘There has been so much hard work put into developing our sport that we desperately need indoor facilities to keep everything going.

‘Nikki Jubb is doing a fantastic job of keeping up with all the re-arrangements of the fixtures and speaking for St Ouens club, and I am sure all the other clubs, we are very grateful and thank her.’
