Senator Walker says that Deputy Roy Le Hérissier’s proposed censure motion – motivated by what the Deputy sees as the Transport Minister’s arrogant and disdainful treatment of his States colleagues – is an over-reaction, and that complaints should have been made to him as Chief Minister or to the Privileges and Procedures Committee before taking the matter to the States. But Deputy Le Hérissier says that he has had several calls from Members since proposing the vote, and that they have all agreed that something had to be done, and that backbenchers have to become more assertive. He says that he is waiting for the Hansard transcripts of Tuesday’s sitting and particularly Deputy de Faye’s answer to a question from Deputy Kevin Lewis before he makes the proposition.
Censure motion is ‘way over the top’
