The two clubs, first and second respectively in Division I, booked their places with victories on Sunday morning at Les Quennevais; Wanderers beating St Brelade 3-1 and St Paul’s hammering Tower 5-1.

James Murray fired Wanderers ahead and after missing a good opportunities to double their advantage St Brelade were pegged back on the stroke of half time when a goalkeeping error led to Michael Weir levelling the scores.

St Brelade manager Mark Kelly said: ‘Wanderers beat us fair and square last week but on Sunday it was much closer and a very good game of football.

‘James finished off a good move to put us ahead and we missed a couple of opportunities to have gone two-up.

Nick Ashley fluffed a goal kick and Wanderers equalised right on the stroke of half time.

‘We were 2-1 behind with ten minutes to go when James nodded home a free kick but a lineman raised a late flag and the goal was ruled out.

‘I was gutted for the boys because we were on top at that stage and we may well have gone on to win the game had the goal been given.

Equaliser ‘We went to three at the back in search of an equaliser and got caught to concede a third.

I’m not sure if our second went in direct from the corner or if our goalkeeper got a touch to it.
