Up to 800 properties could be sold to tenants under a shared equity scheme to fund a ten-year £75m refurbishment programme, which will include the replacement of Caesarea and Convent Courts. Under the ten-year Housing Department Property Plan, published today, the homes would be sold to raise enough money to refurbish the 18% of the 4,600 States homes that do not meet minimum UK standards. The department also say that in ten years time they will have to give ‘serious consideration’ to the question of refurbishing the Le Marais high-rise blocks or knocking them down.
