And the airline’s commercial director has given a reassurance that the deal will be good for Jersey.

We are not going anywhere.’ The news that Flybe has concluded a deal to buy BA Connect has been hailed as ‘a welcome development’ by the Assistant Economic Development Minister, Alan Maclean.

‘We have a good relationship with Flybe and its senior management team, and I can only see this as strengthening the long-term prospects for air routes to and from Jersey,’ he said.

Deputy Maclean said that it would also be an opportunity to talk to the airline about expanding its route network from the Island.
