The photographer who turns green at weddings

Freelance photographer Christian Keenan is doing his bit to balance the environment by planting a tree for every 0.

1 tonnes of carbon emissions he produces in the course of his work.

‘I wanted to try to do something myself, so we bought a little Smart car to be more fuel-efficient and every time I go out on a job I calculate the mileage and at the end of the month work out how many trees are needed to balance it out – normally two or three trees per month,’ he explained.

‘We have two children, aged eight months and three and a half, and it makes you think a bit more about the projected rise in sea levels.

Mr Keenan, who specialises in wedding photography, calculated that for a recent wedding he drove his 700cc Smart car some 35 miles, thereby producing enough CO2 to require one tree in order to neutralise the atmosphere.
