The restaurant, which will be around 15 sq metres, would be called The Oyster Box and would be built on the patch of grassland adjacent to the Long Beach car park and next to the play area.
It was approved by the chef tenants, a body of 41 Grouville parishioners who have responsibility for maintaining the common, at their annual general meeting last month.
