Poll looms in St Martin

News | Published:

AN election for Constable in St Martin is a certainty now that a second candidate, Roy Travert, has come forward.

The present Constable, John Germain, is due to retire in June on his 67th birthday after 12 years as St Martin's father of the parish.

Mr Travert, a motor trade technician, was born in the Island and has lived in the parish for about two years.

He stood as a Senator and then as a Deputy for St Helier No 2 in the elections in 2005, receiving a total of 6,256 and 398 votes respectively.
